One Mob Radio comes to Kempsey

Young Macleay Shire residents explored podcast and radio production in a two-day workshop.

In early October, young people from across the shire had the opportunity to undertake a two day podcast and radio workshop, teaching them the skills to contribute to and produce their own podcasts and radio shows.

The workshops were delivered by One Mob Radio, a Coffs Harbour based First Nations media platform and took place at the Dunghutti Elders Council.

The attendees were taken through the steps of planning and presenting their own radio segments by One Mob’s Lockie and Noelene Skinner. After some practice runs the group then produced their own segments on topics of their own choosing which will now be used by Ready Mob in future broadcasts.

On the second day a free breakfast and live broadcast took place in the Clyde Street carpark where the community came together to enjoy some freshly cooked food and an opportunity to see some live radio.
