What we do?

We work with our community to find and build on local strengths. We listen to people’s voices and ideas to create solutions that are safe, respectful of culture, and meet the real needs of our area. Our aim is to help improve local systems, so they better reflect what matters most to the people who live here.

We work to create better futures for children, young people, adults and elders by addressing local challenges through collaboration, innovation and community-driven action.

We are auspiced by Dhina Durriti Aboriginal Corporation and are committed to upholding and continuously strengthening our practices as a child safe organisation.

Our Impact

2025 marked an exciting new chapter for Learning the Macleay. Entering our second phase, and with funding from the Department of Social Services and the NSW Premier’s Department, our team grew and refocused on the priorities that matter most to our community.

Explore our Annual Reflective Report to see how this growth translated into real action across the Macleay Valley.

Our Team

Grounded in the Macleay Valley, our Backbone Team is a passionate, skilled group driving Learning the Macleay’s vision. We work alongside the community to connect people, lead strategic planning, conduct research and evaluation, and design systems that enable lasting change. At the heart of their work is amplifying local voices, fostering shared learning, and co-creating solutions with the community. Much of their work happens behind the scenes, shaping long-term impact across the Macleay Valley
